✅ Step 1: Log in to AWS
- Sign in to your main AWS payer account (this is usually your AWS Organization root account).
✅ Step 2: Open CloudFormation
- In the AWS Console, search for CloudFormation and open it.
- Click Create stack.
✅ Step 3: Launch the Template
- When asked for a template option, choose “Upload a template URL” (S3 option).
- Enter this URL:
https://cf-templates-138135215152.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/create-cloudoptimizationrole-sp.yaml
- Take all of the default options.
- Click Next → Next → Create stack.
✅ Step 4: Let CloudFormation Work for You
- The stack will create a secure IAM Role.
- This role allows our servers to safely read billing data and generate your personalized Savings Plan Portfolio action reports.
- Wait until the stack shows CREATE_COMPLETE.
✅ Step 5: Send Us Your Details
- Once the stack finishes, simply open the chat window at the bottom of the page and let us know:
- Your AWS Payer Account ID
- The email address where you want your reports delivered
- Your AWS Payer Account ID
